Are you taking on any commissions?

Unfortunately I'm not at the moment due to my primary focus on growing and adding new products to my shop!

What software do you use to create your digital artwork?

I use Procreate on the iPad Pro 2020 along with the Apple pencil to create my digital art. I use a combination of brushes from the 6B pencil for sketching and linework and some textured and painterly style brushes.

 

What traditional art do you do?

I have dabbled in a variety of mediums over the years including acrylic painting, watercolour, graphite, charcoal, pastel, polymer clay, jewellery making, pompom making and most recently crochet! I like to experiment and try new artistic mediums. You will find some handmade products for sale in my shop but you'll have to keep an eye out as they'll be rare due to the time it takes to create them!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the beauty of nature including flora, fauna and botanicals. I also love celestial objects and magic. I love science fiction and fantasy as well as vibrant colour and inky styles so this bleeds into my artwork. Mental health and wellbeing are also very important to me which I sometimes express through art.

Do you have a YouTube/Twitch channel?

I do have both of these - you can follow me @SwirliNyx. I film Studio Vlogs for YouTube that showcases the behind the scenes of my swirly business from product launches to things that fail! I used to livestream on twitch but at the moment I don't have time to fit this into my schedule on top of my two jobs!

What are your goals as an artist?

My goals at this stage in my life are to keep developing and honing my art style, I'd like to one day go full time as an artist creating magical things for you guys to enjoy and passing on what I learn too!
